Very Peri is the 2022 Color of the Year

Pantone’s color experts at the Pantone Color Institute have selected the 2022 Color of the Year – Very Peri. Describing the color in their press announcement, Pantone writes “Encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time possessing a violet-red undertone, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression.”

Adobe Takes on Canva with the Launch of Creative Cloud Express

Adobe has retired their mobile-forward design app Adobe Spark and launched a new web and mobile-friendly tool called Creative Cloud Express.

The new app is free with basic functions and $9.99/month (y’all know Adobe LOVES that recurring revenue model) for advanced templates, designs, fonts, and stock imagery. The app brings together Adobe’s tools from software like Photoshop and Acrobat PDF into an easy to use web and mobile app designed for social media managers, creators, and small business owners.

The freemium model of the Creative Cloud Express along with the ease of use for those who aren’t the most design savvy or are not design professionals is Adobe’s shot at popular web and mobile design app Canva (valued at $40 billion earlier this year).
